These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mod & Co. website and the purchase of products from Mod & Co. (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
About Mod & Co.
Mod & Co. is an independent studio based in Melbourne, Australia, specialising in mechanical keyboard switches and accessories. Many of our products involve cleaning, refurbishment, modification, lubrication, polishing, or other manual processes.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially partnered with Cherry GmbH, unless explicitly stated otherwise. References to third-party brands are made solely to identify product origin or compatibility.
Product Nature & Variability
Many products sold by Mod & Co. are:
- Custom-modified
- Refurbished or desoldered
- Vintage or discontinued
- Manually processed
As a result:
- Minor variations in sound, feel, smoothness, or appearance are normal
- Absolute consistency between units cannot be guaranteed
- Subjective characteristics (such as sound profile or typing feel) are not grounds for fault
Product descriptions are provided in good faith to reflect general characteristics, not exact outcomes.
Custom & Modified Products
Products that have been cleaned, lubricated, polished, broken in, or otherwise modified are considered custom products.
Unless required by Australian Consumer Law, custom products:
- Are not eligible for change-of-mind returns
- Cannot be guaranteed to meet personal preferences
Requests for specific tuning outcomes are accommodated where possible but are not guaranteed.
Compatibility & Installation
Customers are responsible for ensuring:
- Product compatibility with their keyboard, PCB, plate, and layout
- Proper installation and handling
Mod & Co. is not responsible for damage caused by:
- Improper installation
- Incompatible hardware
- Use outside intended specifications
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Where applicable, customers are entitled to remedies for:
- Major faults
- Products not as described
- Products unfit for their intended purpose
These rights apply regardless of custom or modified status.
International Customers
For customers outside Australia:
- Local consumer laws may differ
- Australian Consumer Law applies where legally relevant
- Customs duties, Import taxes, Clearance or handling fees imposed, and compliance are the responsibility of the customer
We do not guarantee compliance with all international regulations.
Pricing & Availability
All prices are listed in AUD unless stated otherwise.
We reserve the right to:
- Adjust pricing
- Limit quantities
- Withdraw products without notice
Errors in pricing or availability may result in order cancellation with a full refund. All prices listed are inclusive of Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) where applicable.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Mod & Co. is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss
- Loss arising from subjective dissatisfaction
- Delays outside our control
- Carrier or customs-related issues
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the product.
Intellectual Property
All website content, product descriptions, images, and branding are the property of Mod & Co. unless otherwise stated.
