Custom Modded Pretooled Cherry MX Switches

Cherry MX Pretooled Blacks offer a fuller sound than Vintage Blacks due to their 5-pin construction. Their acoustic profile is dry, hollow, and scratchy, producing a textured clack that bridges vintage warmth and modern clarity.

Cherry MX Pretooled Browns mirror their MX Black counterparts acoustically, with a dry, poppy sound and a lightly textured clack. They feature a light-medium tactile bump and solid bottom-out feel.

Cherry MX Pretooled Reds are recoloured MX Blacks fitted with a lighter stock spring. They produce a slightly clackier sound than their Black counterparts, with a distinctive pop influenced by the red stem.

Cherry MX Pretooled Blues are the loudest clicky switches in the Cherry lineup, featuring a crisp, energetic click. Their sound is sharp and direct, with less body than later iterations.

Switches are lubed with a light, even coat of your selected lubricant by default. You may request a medium or heavy coat of lube in the cart notes.

Lube application method varies by switch type. Listed below are the default lubing methods:

Linear switches
- Stems are completely lubed
- Front leaf contact points are lubed
Tactile switches
- Stems are completely lubed apart from the legs (unlubed to preserve tactility)
- Back of the leaf is lubed to reduce ticking
Clicky switches
- Stems are left unlubed to preserve the clicky sound
- Back of the leaf is lubed to reduce ticking
